Recently, a drastic change in construction technology has occurred with growth of civil engineering technology and development of ICT. For example, transformation of civil engineering, represented by underground and large-scale, embraces cutting-edge technologies that have never been experienced before and has converged with a variety of technologies to create new areas.
While news of bulk overseas orders from domestic major construction firm makes us feel proud as engineers, engineering industry considered high value-added is relatively underestimated due to focus of construction technology. therefore, development of engineering technology is more urgently needed for synergy effect as a basic industry with world-class construction technology.
The Danwoo R&D Institute has been founded so that technology for design of underground spaces and tunnels can be internationally competitive.
we have contributed to development of design technology through construction of tunnels for transportation facilities such as railways and highways, and development of low-cost, high-efficiency technologies for utilization of underground space. Also, we will do our best to secure global competitiveness through development of design technology.
